A Single Permit is connected to approved employment. Understand what you can and cannot do while holding one.

A Malta Single Permit does not provide unrestricted access to any job. The permit is connected to the employer and employment activity identified in the approved application. Identità states that a holder cannot carry out paid duties for parties other than the identified employer, perform unauthorised work unrelated to the approved employment activity, or be assigned duties outside Malta under that permit. If you want to change employer or your employment designation changes, the appropriate procedure must be followed rather than simply starting the new role. Third-country nationals legally working in Malta are entitled to employment conditions applicable under Maltese employment rules, and Jobsplus participates in the Single Permit process from the labour-market perspective. Keep copies of your employment documentation and check that your residence and work authorisation remain valid. If you are unsure whether a proposed second job, new role or employer is permitted, verify the position before carrying out the work.
