Malta has a specific residence route for third-country nationals whose work depends on the passing of seasons and who keep their principal residence in a third country.
For seasonal employment exceeding 90 days, Identità requires a single application procedure endorsed by the employer. The official page currently lists a fee of €300.
For seasonal work of 90 days or less, the worker must instead obtain the appropriate employment licence through Jobsplus. Identità states that the maximum seasonal stay is nine months in any twelve-month period.
At the end of the permitted seasonal period, the worker must leave Malta unless another lawful residence permit has been granted for a different purpose.
