What happened?
For standard Single Permit applications, the Maltese employer submits the application through the Single Permit Online Portal. The applicant then receives a link to confirm and validate the submitted data before final submission.
Why does it matter?
A submitted application does not by itself give an applicant permission to start working; the required authorisation must be obtained.
Who is affected?
Third-country nationals with a Maltese job offer and their prospective employers.
What should you do?
Ask the employer to start the application through the official Single Permit portal and follow Identità’s instructions.
The employer starts the standard Single Permit application online. After the employer submits the initial information, the applicant receives a link to confirm and validate the data. The employer then completes final submission after payment.
Current first-time Single Permit fee: €600. Always check the official page before payment because fees and procedures can change.
