What happened?
A Single Permit is specific to the employer and designation shown for the authorised employment. Changing employer requires the appropriate Change of Employer application.
Why does it matter?
A valid card showing a future expiry date does not mean the holder can simply use it to work for a different employer.
Who is affected?
Single Permit holders planning to leave one employer and work for another employer in Malta.
What should you do?
Do not start work for the new employer using the old employer-specific authorisation. Use Identità’s Change of Employer procedure and current checklist.
Identità states that the permit is specific to the employer and designation. A change in employer requires the appropriate new application context.
Use the official Change of Employer information and the current checklist before submitting documents.
